Using the Auðkenni App

Here's how you log in with digital ID in the Auðkenni App

1. Start by selecting the Auðkenni App in the service provider's login window.

2. Enter your Icelandic national ID number (not the phone number).

3. A security code appears on the service provider's website, pay attention to this number.

4. The Auðkenni App opens.

5. A security code appears in the Auðkennis App, make sure that this is the same number as the service provider displays.

6. Confirm by entering your PIN-1 number.

7. Then your area on the service provider's website will open.

8. Remember to log out of the web service provider once you have completed your task.

We introduce three new and convenient ways to log in to the Auðkenni App.

Login with QR code when using a browser on a computer.

1. On the login page, a QR code is displayed which you can scan by opening the Authentication app and clicking the "Scan QR Code" button.

2. Then the camera opens, you hold the phone up to the QR code on the computer screen.

3. The QR code is scanned and the authentication process begins.

4. The service provider displays information in the Auðkenni App that you need to confirm.

5. You confirm the information by entering your PIN-1 number.

6. Then your area on the service provider's website will open.

7. Remember to log out of the website once you have completed your task.

Login in the app, when you use the app service provider.

1. When you choose to log in with the Auðkenni App, the authentication process starts immediately.

2. The Auðkenni App opens and the service provider displays information that you need to confirm.

3. You confirm the information by entering your PIN-1 number.

4. Then your area in the service provider's app will open.

5. When you perform any action that requires a signature, it is also done with a signature in the Auðkenni app.

6. When you sign with the Auðkenni App, you enter your PIN-2 number.

7. Remember to log out of the app when you have completed the task.

2. Auðkenni App opens and the service provider displays information that you need to confirm.

3. You confirm the information by entering your PIN-1 number.

4. Then your area on the service provider's website will open.

5. Remember to log out of the website once you have completed your task.

Good to know:

• You need to be connected to the internet to use the Auðkenni App through wifi, 4G or 5G.

• If you switch phones or smart devices, you will need to create new digital ID in the Auðkenni App.

• You should always own the beginning of the login, never enter your PIN if you are not sure.
