Application for digital ID on Auðkenni card
To obtain digital ID on Auðkenni Card, an application must be filled out.
Individuals who have used employee certificate should in most cases be able to use digital ID on Auðkenni Card to perform all digital transactions on behalf of a legal entity as long as the person has a power of attorney or authorization on the website of the relevant service provider. In some cases, however, equipment certificate may need to replace employee certification since digital ID on Auðkenni card do not contain the social security number for the legal entity.
This is how the application process works:
You fill out an application for an Auðkenni card.
In the application, you choose a registration location that is most convenient for you to attend and pick up the ID card. Note that it is necessary to appear in person at the registration athority, no exceptions are granted from this rule.
You pay the annual fee for the card through the Auðkenni payment gateway.
You need to bring your personal ID to the registration authority you have chosen to collect your Auðkenni card.
