To activate e-certificate cards in an Auðkenni's registration office the cardholder needs to have with him or her an 8 digit code called PUK.
When an e-certificate card is produced, a corresponding PUK becomes available in the cardholder's personal online bank.
If you do not have access to an online bank you can contact Auðkenni and have the PUK number sent via traditional mail to your legal residence.
